Tom Deer Memorial Library
Tom Deer, past president of the Fox Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited, had accumulated an extensive collection of books before his untimely death. While it was his wish that choice books go to family members, he wanted the bulk of his collection to serve as a base for a lending library for the Fox Valley Chapter. The chapter has obtained these books and they are available to members.
Tom’s collection has been augmented with books donated from the family of the late Tex Helms, another long time chapter member. Additional books and several videos are also availble through the chapter or its members.
Not all of the books of Tom and Tex are specifically about trout, but they are, in general, about the sport of fishing. Some are humorous, some are informative, some are technical and several are autographed. A number of the books are out of print and may be difficult to find elsewhere. But they can be found in our library for you to enjoy.
The books and/or videos can be reserved by calling Gordy Braun at 920 733 8402 or e-mailing him at Gorgonb8@aol.com. The reserved books or videos will be brought to the next regular meeting and given to the borrowing member. They will be due for return at the following meeting. If necessary, other arrangements can easily be made.
We are hoping members will take advantage of this opportunity.
