Stream Improvements Make a Difference

The Fox Valley chapter of TU is again planning an active year of stream improvement work on area streams. Coordinators Jim Hlaban, Gordy Braun  and Joe Bach encourage you to help out one of the days shown below. Work begins around 8:30 a.m. and wraps up by noon, with a free lunch afterward. Often members will car pool from Appleton. Check the newsletter or web site for details on where we’ll be each Saturday. Call Jim at 920-244-7456 to volunteer.

Fox Valley Chapter 2010 Work Days! (All dates fall on the second Saturday of the month.)

April 8, At Jim Hlaban’s property. We will bundle white spruce branches for use in the brush wads we have planned at the South Branch above Iola. Rawhide will supply a car haul trailer. Starting around 8:30 we will bundle and stack them on the trailer. Eat lunch at Jims After lunch we will take the bundles to the site at the South Branch and unload them. I could use one or two folks who might be willing to help cut branches the day before. Please let me know.

April 10th – Saturday Habitat Day on the Davies Creek in Waushara County

May 6th -  Thursday Possibly another day at Jims or else work at the South Branch above Iola creating wads or overhead structures. 8:30 till 1:30 Lunch around noon.

May  8th –  Saturday Habitat Day on the South Branch of the Little Wolf north of Iola with the Southeast Chapter o f Trout Unlimited

June 12th – Saturday Habitat Day on the South Branch of the Little Wolf

June 17th - Thursday Work at the South Branch 8:30 til 1:30 lunch around noon.

July 10th – Saturday Habitat Day on the South Branch of the Little Wolf

July 15th - Thursday Work at the South Branch 8:30 til 1:30 lunch around noon.

August 14th – Saturday Habitat Day on the South Branch of the Little Wolf

August 19th  - Thursday Work at the South Branch 8:30 til 1:30 lunch around noon.

September 11th  –  Saturday Habitat Day on the South Branch of the Little Wolf

Sept 16th - Thursday Work at the South Branch 8:30 til 1:30 lunch around noon.
