KAYAKS AND FLY FISHING A PRESENTATION BY ROSS MUELLER
September. 18, 7 pm BUBOLZ NATURE CENTER;
Fly fishing and kayaks have come to make a great combination and are becoming a new way to participate in two “quiet sports” at the same time with great results. Have you been curious about the different types of kayaks and just how to get started?
Don’t miss this opportunity to participate in the interactive presentation by Ross Mueller, the well known local author and experienced kayak fisherman. In addition to being a recognized expert on fly fishing, who is more than willing to share his knowledge, Ross is also an accomplished kayak fisherman in both fresh and salt water.
Bring your questions and get ready for a great presentation. We hope to see you on Thursday September 18th at Bubolz Nature Center.
July Habitat day.

Saturday July 12th Elward Engle and Jim Hlaban orchestrated two FVTU work crews in a brush bundling project narrowing the banks of the Davis Creek. Narrowing the stream enhances the flow which removes silt from the bottom the stream bed and exposes gravel. The gravel beds are then used by spawning trout in the late Fall.
The work crew was composed of FVTU regulars, Dave Ehrenberg from Shawpaca along with CASS students from Fox Valley Technical College students, Miguel, Antony, and Jose, who are from Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and El Salvador respectively. The students are here for two years studying water quality. Three newcomers from Hortonville area joined us as well.
As we were working Elward instructed us in all facets of stream restoration and the ecology of the area. Later he showed us four beautiful streams in the Wautoma area.
